Purpose-built for the Australian trade ecosystem
Four connections, all live today. Each sends from the consignment record and writes the result back to it, so the status you see in SageDocs is the status the authority holds.
REX — export permits and certificates
Request export permits and government certificates from DAFF against your establishment and commodity, with the conditions for the destination market applied to the consignment.
- Requests raised from the consignment record, not re-keyed
- Permit conditions and market requirements surfaced before you send
- Issued permits and certificates return to the consignment
- Amendments and cancellations handled in the same place
EDN — export declaration numbers
Lodge the export declaration with Customs and receive the EDN back automatically, ready for the terminal and the shipping line.
- Declaration built from the goods lines already entered
- Tariff and AHECC classifications validated before lodgement
- EDN written onto the consignment and the documents that cite it
- Amendments lodged against the original declaration
PRA — pre-receival advice
Send pre-receival advice to the container terminal through 1-Stop so the box can be received, with the EDN and consignment details already in place.
- PRA raised from the same record as the declaration
- Container, seal and weight details carried across
- Amendments and cancellations before cut-off
- Terminal responses visible against the consignment
Certificates of origin
Apply for certificates of origin through the chambers of commerce, including preferential certificates where a free trade agreement applies.
- Applications prepared from the consignment and its goods lines
- Supporting invoices and declarations attached automatically
- Issued certificates stored against the consignment
- Reprints and amendments without starting again
Common questions
Do we need our own credentials with each authority?
Yes — your registrations stay yours. SageDocs lodges as you, using your own accounts and establishment details. We help connect them during onboarding, and nothing is submitted under a shared identity.
What happens when a lodgement is rejected?
The rejection and its reason come back onto the consignment with the offending field flagged. You correct it in the record and re-lodge. Recurring causes appear in exception reporting, so the pattern becomes visible rather than folkloric.
Can SageDocs talk to our ERP or accounting system?
Consignments and goods lines import from spreadsheet today, and we build data connections into order and ERP systems during onboarding where volume warrants it. Bring the file format you have to the walkthrough.
Are there lodgement types you do not cover yet?
The four above are the connections we run. Freight booking and container tracking stay with the lines and terminals you already use. If a document type or channel matters to your trade and is not here, tell us on the walkthrough — that is how we decide what to build next.
What if we would rather not run the lodgements ourselves?
Our managed services team can prepare and submit on your instruction, working in your own account so you keep full visibility and the audit trail.
