One connected platform for trade operations
SageDocs is not a folder of templates. It is a record of the consignment that knows which documents it owes, which authority wants them, and whether what is on them is valid.
A single source of truth
Consignor and consignee, ports of loading and discharge, vessel and voyage, goods lines with tariff classifications, weights, marks and numbers, permit conditions. Everything the paperwork will ask for, held once.
Documents are views of this record. A corrected weight or a changed discharge port updates the declaration, the invoice, the packing list and the certificate application together — which is the difference between one edit and eleven.
Compliance built into entry, not bolted onto submission
Tariff codes, UN/LOCODEs, establishment numbers, country and currency codes and partner identifiers check against the live registers at the moment of entry.
An error caught at the desk costs a keystroke. The same error caught at lodgement costs a rejected submission, a re-cut certificate or a container sitting at a terminal past cut-off.
What the platform covers
Open any of these for the detail.
Documentation
Commercial invoices, packing lists, export declarations, certificates of origin, health and phytosanitary certificates, bill of lading instructions and delivery orders — generated from the consignment record on your own letterhead.
- Your templates, your layout, your terms
- Multi-currency and multi-language descriptions
- Consolidated documents for split consignments
- A whole document pack a customer can be sent as one file
Regulatory submissions
Four live connections, described in full on the integrations page: REX with DAFF, EDN with Australian Border Force, PRA with 1-Stop, and certificates of origin with the chambers of commerce.
Submissions are made from the record and their results return to it. You are never re-keying a permit number out of an email into a spreadsheet.
Review and approval
Send a consignment for review before anything is lodged. The reviewer sees which fields changed since the last approved version, with validation results attached, and either approves or returns it with a note.
- Assign review by customer, corridor or document type
- Approvals recorded against a person, not a shared mailbox
- Optional second approval for high-value consignments
Visibility and oversight
A live view of every consignment and what it is waiting on — drafting, review, lodged, returned. Managers see the state of the desk without asking for a status update, and the queue makes the bottleneck obvious rather than anecdotal.
- Filter by customer, corridor, commodity, stage or owner
- What is at risk against a cut-off
- Which lodgements are outstanding with which authority
Audit trail and history
Every field change, every submission and every document version is attributed and timestamped, and the record can be rolled back. When an authority or a customer asks what was declared and when, the answer is one screen rather than an archaeology project across inboxes.
Templates, repeats and bulk work
Regular consignments start from a previous one or from a saved template. Standing details — consignee, establishment, commodity lines, permit conditions — carry across, and only the variables need touching.
- Duplicate a consignment and change the dates
- Saved templates per customer or per market
- Bulk lodgement when a vessel closes
- Spreadsheet import for goods lines
Reporting
Volume by customer, corridor, commodity and document type. Exception reporting on what was returned and why, so recurring causes are visible and fixable. Everything exports to spreadsheet.
Users, roles and access
Unlimited users. Roles control who can draft, who can approve and who can lodge. Forwarders can scope access so each customer sees only their own consignments.
Data, security and hosting
Hosted in Australia. Your data is yours: exportable in full at any time, and never sold, shared or used to train anything. Access is per-user with role-based permissions and a complete access log.
Implementing, replacing or moving off manual process
Most customers come from spreadsheets and email, some from an existing platform, some from an outsourced provider. Onboarding covers connecting your authority credentials, building your document templates and loading standing data — typically filing real consignments within a fortnight. Where you would rather not run it in-house at all, our managed services team can.

The fastest way to judge this is to watch your own paperwork go through it.
